Heart Attack 30-Day Mortality Rate
This graph shows the estimated 30-day death (mortality) rates for Medicare heart attack patients at St. Luke's Boise/Meridian Medical Centers, compared to the national 30-day death rate for all Medicare patients treated for heart attack. The death rates shown here have been "risk-adjusted." This means that they take into account how sick patients were before they were admitted to the hospital. This rate includes any Medicare heart attack patient treated at St. Luke's who died of any reason (not necessarily heart-related) within 30 days after discharge from the hospital.
According to ratings given by CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) St. Luke's heart attack death rate is labeled as "no different than the U.S. national rate".
A lower number is better.
A lower number would indicate that the death rate was lower.
