W. Christian Oakley, MD

Dr. W. Christian Oakley has been practicing surgery in Boise for more than 20 years. In 2001, Dr. Oakley was the first surgeon to perform a laparoscopic gastric bypass in Idaho, at St. Luke’s Boise Medical Center. Since that time, he has performed more than 700 laparoscopic gastric bypass procedures which is many more than any other surgeon in Idaho. Dr. Oakley is board certified by the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He is a member of the active staff at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Boise, where he is a past President of the medical staff.
Robert Korn, MD, PhD
Bariatric Surgeon
Dr. Bob Korn has performed more than 250 bariatric procedures since 2003. He earned his medical degree and doctorate in cardiac physiology from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed his surgical residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and his fellowship in surgical critical care at the University of Maryland. Dr. Korn is certified by the American Board of Surgery in both general surgery and critical care, and is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
