Schwartz Center Rounds
SeminarCaring for Caregivers

Schwartz Center Rounds are sessions in which St. Luke's hospital staff explore the emotional side of caregiving.

A comprehensive study of Schwartz Center Rounds has shown them to help caregivers better connect with patients emotionally, enhance caregiver understanding of the effects of illness on patients and families, improve communication among caregivers, and decrease feelings of caregiver isolation and stress.

Caregivers participate in these interactive discussions and share their experiences, thoughts, and feelings on different topics. Past topics have included delivering bad news, when religious or spiritual beliefs conflict with medical advice, taking care of a colleague, and losing a patient.
