After-hours and Weekends
If you feel that you are having an emergency, please proceed to the nearest hospital or call "911." Upon arrival at the hospital, inform the staff that you are a patient of St. Luke's Idaho Cardiology Associates.
If you have a question or concern during office hours, call our office and one of our associates will assist you. If you have an urgent concern that needs immediate attention after office hours, please call our office at (208) 322-1680 and our answering service will page the on-call cardiologist. The cardiologist will return your call after being contacted by the answering service.
What is Cardiology?
Physicians with St. Luke's Idaho Cardiology Associates specialize in treating diseases and disorders that affect the heart and its associated blood vessels. Each physician has received advanced education and experience in this specialty, and all are board certified and fellows in the American College of Cardiology. They work with our nurse practitioners and associates staff to provide you with high quality, comprehensive cardiac care.

|Murali N. Bathina, MD, FACC is board certified in cardiovascular disease and nuclear cardiology, and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He specializes in cardiac catheterization, pacemakers, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. Dr. Bathina earned his medical degree from the Rush University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Washington. He performed his fellowship at the University of New Mexico. He joined St. Luke's Idaho Cardiology Associates in 1998, and sees patients at the Caldwell and Meridian locations.|
|Andrew U. Chai, MD, FACC is board certified in cardiovascular disease and nuclear cardiology, and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He earned his medical degree from Medical College of Wisconsin, where he also completed his residency. Dr. Chai joined St. Luke's Idaho Cardiology Associates in 1999, and sees patients at the Caldwell, Meridian, Nampa, and Eagle locations and the Sun Valley regional clinic.|
|James C. Field, MD, FACC is board certified in cardiovascular disease and nuclear cardiology, and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He earned his medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of New Mexico Hospital. Dr. Field joined St. Luke's Idaho Cardiology Associates in 2000, and sees patients at the Caldwell and Nampa locations and the Ontario regional clinic.|
|Kristin M. Linzmeyer, MD, FACC is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and nuclear cardiology. She earned her bachelor's degree from Carroll College and her medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University, where she also performed her internal medicine residency. She completed her internal medicine internship at the University of Utah and her cardiology fellowship at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Linzmeyer sees patients at the Meridian, Eagle, Nampa, and Caldwell locations and at regional clinics in Mountain Home, Baker City, and LaGrande.|
|Melinda L. Marks, MD, FACC is a cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist. She is board certified in clinical cardiac electrophysiology and cardiovascular disease, and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed her residency at the University of Washington Medical Center. Dr. Marks joined St. Luke's Idaho Cardiology Associates in 1996, and sees patients at the Boise, Caldwell, and Meridian locations and the McCall regional clinic.|
Christy Bayes, FNP is a family nurse practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She relocated to St. Luke’s ICA from West Valley Middleton Family Practice clinic. Christy earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Idaho State University.
|Anna McCreath, NP-C earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Idaho State University and her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Gonzaga University. Anna joined St. Luke's Idaho Cardiology Associates in 2003, and sees patients at the Caldwell and Meridian locations.|
|Janel Murray, NP-C earned her undergraduate degree in nursing from Upper Iowa University and her master's degree in nursing, nurse practitioner, from Vanderbilt University. She sees patients at the Caldwell and Nampa locations.|
|Shannon Vaughn, NP-C earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from Idaho State University. She joined St. Luke's Idaho Cardiology Associates in 2008. She sees patients at the Caldwell and Boise locations and the Baker City and Union regional clinics.|
We try to stay on time, as a courtesy to you and others. Since paperwork may take a few minutes, please arrive early. As emergencies do occur, there may be occasions when your appointment time will be delayed. We will always try to keep you informed in the event of a delay, and will be happy to reschedule your appointment, if you prefer. We ask that you respect the appointment time we have reserved for you, and call 24 hours ahead to cancel or change appointments so that others may be helped during that time.
Communication with your provider is extremely important. It may be helpful for you to write down questions for your doctor or nurse practitioner prior to your visit. Bring a list of medications and the dosages, or bring the bottles with you.
Make sure you understand any instructions you are given. If clarification is needed, review your instructions with the provider or medical assistant before you leave. If you aren’t doing well after your visit, we want to hear from you. Our goal is to improve your health.

We accept most insurance plans, including Medicare, in-state Medicaid, Tricare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and others.
The list is subject to change; please give our office a call to inquire about coverage.
As a courtesy, our practice routinely files primary and supplemental insurance claims for our patients. Insurance may pay for all, some, or none of your bill. Please remember that you are responsible for payment of balances not covered by your insurance. You will receive a monthly statement from St. Luke's Idaho Cardiology Associates as long as your account is active. For questions concerning insurance or account balances not covered by insurance, please call
Talk with your provider at each visit to be sure your prescriptions are up to date. When you need to refill your prescriptions, you can request them directly through your myChart account.
You can also request a refill by contacting your pharmacy. Your pharmacy will then contact our office for verification and approval. For patient safety, narcotics cannot be refilled outside of office hours. Talk with your provider before your prescription runs out, and please allow 48 hours for refills.
