|Roberto V. Barresi, MD is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He specializes in general, laparoscopic, and oncologic (cancer) surgery. He earned his bachelor's degree in cell and structural biology from the University of Illinois and his medical degree from Rush Medical College in 1995. He completed his general surgery residency and internship at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center. Dr. Barresi is a member of the Idaho Medical Association and Ada County Medical Society.|
|Jon B. Getz, MD, FACS is a board certified general surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has particular interest and expertise in surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands and surgical treatment of breast cancer and melanoma. He earned his medical degree from Boston University, where he also earned his bachelor's degree in medical science and political science. He completed his general surgery residency and internship at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Getz served as director of the surgical residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, and of the surgical residency program deployment for Operation Desert Storm. He is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, American Society of Breast Surgeons, and Southwestern Surgical Society. He has been in practice in Boise since 1993.|
|Jonathan V. Giles, MD, FACS is a board certified general surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He specializes in advance laparoscopic, oncologic (cancer), hernia repair, and endocrine surgery. He earned his bachelor's degree in physiology from the University of California at Davis and his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School. He completed his general surgery residency and internship at the University of Utah and Affiliated Hospitals, and served three years of active duty as a U.S. Air Force surgeon with the 366th Wing Hospital, Mountain Home Air Force Base. Dr. Giles is a member and Fellow of the Southwest Surgical Congress, and has been in practice with Boise Surgical Group since 2001.|
|Scott A. Henson, MD, FACS is a board certified general surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has specific interest and specializes in breast cancer surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, and hernia repair. He earned his bachelor's degree in pre-medicine from the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he also completed his general surgical residency and internship. Dr. Henson is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, Idaho Medical Association, Ada County Medical Society, and American Society of Breast Surgeons. He has been in practice with Boise Surgical Group since 2000.|
|Reese A. Verner, MD, FACS is a board certified general surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He specializes in general, laparoscopic, and oncologic (cancer) surgery. He earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Point Loma Nazarene College, and his medical degree from Albany Medical College in 1993. He completed his general surgery residency and internship at the University of Arizona, and served as a Major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps Reserve. Dr. Verner is a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, American Medical Association, and Idaho Medical Association.|
|Wendy M. Jones, PA-C is a nationally certified physician assistant. She works directly with Dr. Verner in the OR and clinic, performs lipoma removal and other in-office procedures, and assists other surgeons in the OR. She earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology and athletic training from California Polytechnic State University and her physician assistant degree from Midwestern University. She served as a collegiate soccer coach at Washington State University and Boise State University, and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Idaho Academy of Physician Assistants, and American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants.|
Patients are seen by appointment. Please notify us if you will be late so that we can best accommodate you.
Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you will not be able to make your scheduled appointment. We are happy to reschedule your appointment, and this will enable us to serve all patients in a timely manner.
If you are a new patient, please click on "New Patient Paperwork." Please print out these forms, complete them, and bring them with you to your appointment. If you do not have Internet access, we are happy to mail the paperwork to you. We ask that you bring your insurance card with you to each visit, and notify us of any changes in your address, phone number, or insurance information.
We accept most insurance plans, including Medicare, in-state Medicaid, Tricare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and others.
Talk with your provider at each visit to be sure your prescriptions are up to date. For refills, contact your pharmacy. Your pharmacy will then contact our office for verification and approval. For patient safety, narcotics cannot be refilled outside of office hours. Talk with your provider before your prescription runs out, and please allow 48 hours for refills.
