Dr. Mark Szentes is a board certified surgeon with many years of experience in a wide variety of traditional and laparoscopic procedures. His specialties include laparoscopic surgery, hernias, gallbladder, and cancer-particularly breast and melanoma (skin).

What is General Surgery?
Surgeons and surgical staff at St. Luke's are trained in a wide range of services to provide both the expert technical care and the comforting extra touches necessary for successful surgery and recovery. St. Luke's Clinic - General Surgery works closely with St. Luke's surgical staff, utilizing staff expertise and state-of-the-art diagnostics and technology to meet each patient's individual needs.

Our Medical Providers

Mark J. Szentes, MD Mark J. Szentes, MD is a board certified surgeon who specializes in breast surgery and general surgery. He earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Purdue University and his medical degree from Indiana University. He completed his surgical residency and internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. Dr. Szentes is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Southwestern Surgical Congress, and a member of the Idaho Medical Association and the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

Your Appointment
Patients are seen by appointment. Please notify us if you will be late; you may be asked to reschedule.

Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you will not be able to make your scheduled appointment. This will enable us to serve all patients in a timely manner.

If you are a new patient, at your first appointment you will be instructed to come 30 minutes early to complete paperwork just prior to your appointment. Please bring a current medication list of prescription and over-the-counter medications you are taking, as well as your insurance card and photo identification. We ask that you bring your insurance card with you to each visit and notify us of any changes in your address, phone number, or insurance information.

Insurance Plans
We accept most insurance plans, including Medicare, in-state Medicaid, Tricare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and others.

Medication Refills
Talk with your provider at each visit to be sure your prescriptions are up to date. When you need to refill your prescriptions, you can request them directly through your myChart account.

You can also request a refill by contacting your pharmacy. Your pharmacy will then contact our office for verification and approval. For patient safety, narcotics cannot be refilled outside of office hours. Talk with your provider before your prescription runs out, and please allow 48 hours for refills.
