Big Kids Klub

A class designed to help prepare brothers and sisters for the new baby.  Children talk about their feelings concerning the new baby’s arrival, take a video tour of the maternity unit, and receive a certificate of participation.  Participants need to bring a photo of themselves.

Infant Safety and CPR Class

New parents, grandparents, and caregivers are encouraged to attend this class to learn infant CPR and what to do if the infant should choke. Child safety and prevention of injury are also discussed. This is not a certification class.

Prepared Childbirth Course 

A series of five classes designed to prepare expectant mothers and their support person for labor and childbirth. Topics include: wellness of the mother, labor and delivery, relaxation and breathing techniques, pain management, cesarean delivery, non-conforming labors, hospital procedures, postpartum care, newborn care and feeding (breast and bottle) and a video tour of the Women and Infants Center.

Happiest Baby on the Block

At our Happiest Baby on the Block class, expectant parents learn step-by-step how to help babies sleep longer and how to soothe even the fussiest infants in minutes…or less!  Class includes a Parenting Kit that contains your choice of The Happiest Baby on the Block VHS or DVD and Soothing Sounds CD.

Education and Support Group for Non-Offending Parents of Child Victims 

CARES is sponsoring this important resource for families through its United Way funded program, Child Trauma Recovery Resource. This 10-week group will cover topics relating to the impact of child sexual abuse on both the child and the non-offending parent.

Safe Kids Buckle Up!
Car Safety Seat Inspections. Car seat inspection and child passenger safety awareness events conducted by certified car safety seat technicians, courtesy of the Safe Kids of the Magic Valley. Inspections are held year-round. Come in for a free inspection of your child’s car seat.  Purchase a new car seat and have it installed for free by SAFE KIDS.  For more information on events and free inspections call 737-2430.
