St. Luke's Magic Valley is the only area hospital with board certified neurologists on staff. Services are provided for adults and adolescents.
An Electroencephalogram (EEG) helps physicians diagnose disorders of the brain, such as epilepsy, seizure disorders, injury- and infection-related brain disorders, stroke, dementia, and sleep disorders.. St. Luke's Magic Valley has been providing out-patient and in-patient EEG services since 1968. We have two board certified neurology specialists on staff, and our technologist is board registered with ABRET (the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists) . We have advanced digital equipment for EEG testing and now offer Ambulatory EEGs through Neurology of Twin Falls.
EEG is non-invasive and painless procedure, which involves taking a brief history of the patient's complaints, measuring the patient's head, applying leads to the scalp, and running the test. A neurologist then reads the EEG and reports the finding to the patient’s physician.
