Screening Mammography

The American Cancer Society recommends that every woman age 40 and older have an annual mammogram. This screening test can identify changes in the breast that may be early signs of cancer, but are too small or subtle to be felt.
St. Luke’s provides mammography, breast examination, and education to women throughout our region. You can find easy access to breast screening at our breast screening centers and mobile mammography coach.
- Full-Field Digital Mammography available, for the most advanced screening technology, providing an up to 26 percent increase in diagnosis of early-stage breast cancer for women who are age 40-49, are pre- or peri-menopausal, or have dense breast tissue.
- Computer-aided detection system assists radiologists by digitizing and analyzing mammograms for suspicious areas that may indicate cancer. Studies show this system may help detect up to 20 percent more breast cancers in their earliest, most treatable stage.
- Services are accredited by the American College of Radiology and provided by experienced technologists certified in mammography by the American Registry of Registered Technologists.
- Registered nurses are specially trained in performing clinical breast exams and providing patient self-exam information.*
- Financial assistance available for women who qualify.
